Fatness Resolutions for the New Year
We have all made them, maybe kept them for a week or a month…… then lost interest totally. Why do we give up? Too hard to stick to…? Perhaps we really didn’t want to give up in the first place.
It is important that you know what you want to achieve and why you want to achieve it. Picture your life as it is now and then how much better it would be if you achieve the changes you want to make.To achieve your ultimate goal, you make smaller goals to achieve along the way. These smaller goals are easier to reach, so you get more positive results sooner, which keeps you motivated to achieve further. |

Example
For example: Resolution – to lose weight! Let’s look at what this really means – to be thinner; to not be fat; look better in clothes/swimsuit; be healthier; fit into clothes you used to wear; generally feel good about yourself or to weigh less when you stand on the scales. But remember muscle, is heavier than fat, so scales are not the best indication of weight loss. How your clothes fit is a better measure, or body measurements. Makes you think doesn’t it.
The first step is to identify: Why you want to loses weight (body fat). What is your ultimate goal. How to achieve your ultimate goal. The ‘why’ and ‘what’ are the easy part. ‘How’ takes a lot more consideration.
How
Look at – Diet : Amount of food; Type of food eaten; Regularity of meals. Exercise: Amount; Type; Frequency. Body shape: What do you want to change?
Then find a top and a pair of trousers/skirt that are slightly too tight and make your first goal that they should fit comfortably: don’t use scales as weight varies. In the earlier days it is harder to see the difference, but your clothes won’t lie to you! Repeat this until you reach your ultimate goal.
If you are thinking “too much effort “ you have found your downfall. Rome wasn’t built in a day! Life isn’t meant to be easy (all the time!) If you want something badly enough it CAN be achieved - but you must put in the effort!
Other people can’t do it for you, they can help, but ultimately you control your own destiny. Let’s get 2007 off to a good start. Be positive. You can achieve.
