Treating Children with Homeopathy
Homeopathy uses highly dilute substances from nature, in a matching process where a medicine is chosen according to the symptoms of your child. It is thought to work by stimulating your child’s immune system to function more efficiently and it gently rebalances emotional dysfunction. You can safely use homeopathy at home for everyday problems. To get you started, you will probably need the following remedies at some time in your child’s development: Teething Chamomilla 30C inconsolable and angry child Trapped wind Magnesium phos 30C baby doubles up in pain Nappy rash Calendula 30C and calendula cream, soothing & antiseptic Earache Pulsatilla30C clingy, weepy with greenish discharge from ear Fever Aconite 30C sudden fevers after getting chilled Belladonna30C high temperature, red face Gelsemium 30C slow onset fevers with chills, bone pain & fatigue Coughs Bryonia 30C miserable, irritable, better keeping still Pulsatilla 30C clingy, weepy copious yellow/green mucous Vomiting Nux vomica 30C bilious and bad tempered Arsenicum album 30C after bad food, with diarrhoea & restlessness Bumps Arnica 30C for bruises, also for shock & exhaustion When to visit a Homeopath While it safe to use homeopathy for everyday complaints, some symptoms are early warning signs of a deeper underlying problem such as increased irritability, sleeplessness, feelings of dread guilt or depression. These can indicate a need for attention from a registered homeopath, who will treat constitutionally and get to the source of the underlying problem. This will involve an initial consultation lasting up to two hours with several follow up sessions lasting approximately 1 hour. The duration of treatment will depend on the chronicity of the problem being treated, and can be discussed with the homeopath before starting treatment. I have a clinic in Aberfeldy every 6 weeks and I treat children at a reduced rate, I charge £20 for the initial consultation and £10 for follow up sessions.
