Local Ambulances: Urge to Keep Focussed
In June I wrote to Nicola Sturgeon outlining the issues with regard to the ambulance service in Highland Perthshire, asking that she examined the issue on the basis that the population of Highland Perthshire was being treated in a cavalier fashion by the Scottish Ambulance Service, writes C'llr Ian Campbell.
I have now received a reply from the Minister for Public Health, Shona Robison outlining the details of the Scottish Ambulance Services initial decision and advising that the changes will be reviewed in the light of having 6 months data covering the new working arrangements. |

Meeting
I have been invited to meet with Mr Gordon, the ambulance services Divisional Manager to discuss the issue in more detail. If you would like me to raise any issues you may have, please let me know.
It is still my contention, however, that a possible 2 hour wait for an ambulance is unacceptable for Highland Perthshire when the target in urban Scotland is 8 minutes. This will not provide as the ambulance service maintains, ‘an enhancement to service’
Report Problems
It is vital that residents of Highland Perthshire keep their Community Councils and Councillors fully informed of any issues or problems with the ambulance service so that these can be raised with the Community Reference Group (Ambulance Liaison Group) and the ambulance service directly.
The danger is that we become complacent, so please ensure that your voice is heard, loud and clear.
